Established on April 22, 1998, under the Cooperative Act of 1992, Royal Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. (RMCL) stands by its motto of “fostering inclusive local development and economic empowerment, particularly for the impoverished and marginalized”.
In its early years, RMCL successfully established eight branches across various districts in Nepal, including Lalitpur, Pokhara, Syangja, Tanahu (Bhimad, Dulegaunda), Hetauda, and Narayangargh. However, a subsequent government amendment to the Cooperative Act necessitated a strategic shift, leading RMCL to localize five branches and merge two within its Head Office in Kathmandu.
At present, RMCL continues its commitment to community development by providing a diverse range of services. These services encompass Cooperative Banking, Microfinance, Insurance, Remittance, Digital Payment, agro-business, as well as Cooperative education and training.
The delivery of these services is efficiently managed through a robust Service Center network, ensuring that RMCL remains at the forefront of empowering local communities and promoting sustainable economic growth
